END THE BATTLE AGAINST CORROSION & REDUCE MAINTENANCE COSTS BY USING Si-COAT® 579
ANTI-CORROSION COATINGS

T E C H N O L O G Y  T H A T  S T I C K S™

Si-COAT® 579 - This is a coating system which is composed of 100% Organo Siloxane room temperature vulcanized rubber (RTV) material. It is formulated for its exceptional anti-corrosion control properties and for its surface tolerance (ability to adhere to steel with exceptional bond strength without primer). Water cleaning is all that is usually required before application to tightly bonded coating, rusty steel or firm concrete. This will save you time, money and reduced cleanup costs.

The photo above shows
Si-COAT's low surface energy properties causing water to bead.

Compare the Costs

For example, a tank that is 40 ft. in height, and has 11,000 square feet of surface area with an umbrella top, the following summarizes the cost.

The installed cost per square foot for a paint system that includes a primer coat, an intermediate epoxy coat and a urethane topcoat would cost $5.25 / SF (including abrasive blast)

The installed cost per square foot for a paint system that includes Si-COAT 579 for a 1-coat system would be $2.56 (including water cleaning).

Si-COAT 579 is a single component material that uses a neutral moisture curing mechanism. You apply these materials out of the can without mixing two components like an epoxy or a urethane. The recoat time is relative to the humidity in the air. A fresh coat can be applied when the first coat becomes tack free. Final cure is about 24 hours.

Si-COAT 579 coating system exhibits extremely low surface energy properties when it is applied to a substrate. In other words Si-COAT creates a high slip surface with a very low surface tension that does not allow other materials to stick to it. We do not represent that the coating will not get dirty, but we can say that dirt build up will not be an issue and a water wash down will bring back the coating to its original shine. The Si-COAT 579 compares favorably in low surface energy properties to thermoplastics such as polyethylene, Teflon and thermosets such as Fiberglass, epoxy, or urethane.

Si-COAT 579 will not degrade in UV Rays or Ozone. In other words it will not fade, chalk or loose its color in sunlight. It is in fact the most UV and ozone resistant material we have tested. Your tank or structure will remain like the day you coated it for many years to come.

Because of its flexible elastomeric properties, Si-COAT 579 will not be susceptible to rust creep or cracking. This very durable material will flex with sheet metal or fiberglass and can be used in conjunction with sealants to bridge small holes, penetrations cracks and joints in concrete. This material is a natural for sealing metal roofs, waterproofing water basins, secondary containment structures or beautification of existing structures.
