This recent advance in polymer chemistry for secondary containment lining applications is the advent of a truly new generation of highly chemical resistant yet elastomeric polymers. Elastomeric Lining System for Primary & Secondary Containment

Elasti-Liner possess excellent elongation and tensile properties while having chemical resistance equal to or superior to the rigid and thermoplastic polymers available to date. The new polymer system is spray, roller, or squeegee applied over prepared concrete, or even cracked but well-bonded lining materials, in two or three successive coats. Upon cure, the most widely used version of the polymer possesses about 235% elongation and resists immersion of unlimited duration in aggressive aqueous chemistry.

Elasti-Liner Joint is a truly unique innovation in crack and joint sealing. The key component of the Elasti-Liner Joint is a premolded version of Elasti-Liner. This 5" wide material is supplied in rolls of 50 lineal feet. It is chemically adhered to various substrates including concrete, polymer or steel. EL joints provides protection over concrete with up to 1/4" of dynamic movement of the substrate. This can be used over true expansion or isolation joints within that range.

CCSI can quote your needs for liquid applied membranes which are used as flexible containment linings for concrete or over soil with a geotextile fabric. These tough but flexible materials can be installed in the most demanding cold or damp environments and at the same time provide a wide range of chemical resistance.

Sheet Membranes for Secondary Containment

Our sheet membranes are made from thermoplastic copolymers with dispersed polyester fiber or scrim. This provides excellent chemical resistance to acids, caustics and solvents above that of typical elastomers or thermoset polymers. Membranes are engineered for UV and ozone stability for outdoor containment. The lining is available in a self adhesive form to allow 100% surface bonding or in a un bonded form for a loose laid lining for over compacted soil. These linings remain flexible in cold temperatures and has a 170% elongation. Unlike coating systems the surface prep requirements are not as critical. Usually a water cleaning of concrete is all that is required. Chemical resistant sheet goods are available in a variety of formulas that will take exposures from concentrated acids to most organic solvents. In many cases, these linings will take demanding chemical exposures that liquid applied materials will not.

Liners from CCSI can be installed with leak detection systems underneath to provide leak detection via electronic sensor, pressure test or liquid monitoring

Geo-Membranes for Secondary Containment

Secondary membranes for chemical spills are resitant to immersion in most industrial chemicals. Geo-membranes are highly puncture-resitant due to strong, elastomeric properties, and offer long-term weathering, (UV, ozone and moisture) that will never degrade.
